third shift Injection Molding Technician who is ready to take on

Set Up Tech is a preliminary role that advances to Process

position Directly reports to: Production Supervisor
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES: The responsibilities and
authorities for this position include, but are certainly not
limited to: Proficiently perform Set Up Technician C task
requirements Operate every molding machine and auxiliary and
peripheral equipment. Perform set-ups and teardowns on all
processes. Uses established processes in operations manuals and
provides updates when necessary. Maintains production expectancies
and produces parts consistent with customer. Ensure adherence to
defined quality standards and documented processes. Set-up
injection molding machines to establish process parameters and
standards. Set-up required auxiliary and peripheral equipment.
Remove molds from machines. Empty and clean hoppers, loaders, and
grinders. Initiate machine and equipment repairs and follow lock
out/tag out procedures. Layout workstation and/or document process
per established specifications. Verify process parameters and
correct conveyor operation. Alert qualified personnel if
discrepancies are found or revisions are required in Operations
Manuals related to the Set-up B, Molder and Machine Operator
sections. The work performed below is expected from a certified
Molder and continues in the Set-up B position: Restart injection
molding machines after a cycle interruption; purge and shutdown
injection molding machines per documented procedures. Change
machine set points per documented instructions and procedures.
Alert Warehouse Control Clerk and Set-up personnel of requirements
for production. Assist Set-up personnel with line clearance. Tend
or operate one or more plastic molding machines running manual,
semi-automatic; or automatic cycle. When tending automatic cycle
machines, multiple machine coverage will be required if time
permits. As required remove and grind runners and sprues. Operate
lugging machines at the molding machine or a designated area. Load
machines with reels containing inserts, load fixtures with molded
parts, manually activate lugging action, remove lugs from fixture,
and correct simple jams. Using machines, jigs, fixtures, gauges, or
hand tools, perform a variety of operations on molded or purchased
parts such as removing flash, runners, gates, buffing, burring,
drilling, and tapping, filling, gluing, finishing, sanding,
machining, gauging, and etc. Visually inspect and sort all parts to
a predetermined quality level for such flaws as short shots, burns,
contaminates, visual and dimensional defects. Gauge parts using
gauges and simple inspection devices. Performs operator inspections
per control plan. Provide production parts to quality personnel for
inspection purposes. Assemble and/or finish parts by hand or using
various jigs, fixtures, machines, sonic welder, hot stamping
machine, tampo printer, etc. Make-up shipping containers and
prepare for shipping. Layer pack or weigh containers to ensure
accurate part count per customer requirements. Move finished goods
to staying area. Properly complete all required paperwork and
electronic data entry of information pertaining to assignments.
Accurately allocate daily attendance hours in A.D.P. Maintain work
area in an orderly manner and to be free from debris, parts,
runners and items not required to perform job, moving and stacking
filled cartons, material drums, and unused auxiliary/peripheral
equipment to storage area, clean and degrease machines and
equipment as assigned. May empty trash. Perform machine TPM’s,
participate in 5S practices and if certified, may perform mold
PM’s. Report all machine, equipment, production or processing
problems to the supervisor or qualified personnel. Maintain P-data
sheets and process documentation as assigned to comply with SPC and
defined quality requirements. Maintain production expectancies and
produces parts consistent with customer and internal requirements.
Actively assist in training others as assigned. Perform other
duties as assigned. 3. HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Set-up
B. is responsible for complying with the Company Health & Safety
Program including Occupational Health & Safety Legislation,
regulations, standards and Company Health & Safety policies.

(Addendum to Supervisor Job Descriptions). 4. MINIMUM EDUCATION
AND/OR DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the
following minimum education qualifications: High school or GED;
technical degree in plastic injection molding a plus Minimum of
twelve months injection molding experience. Complete Plasman Set-up
B certification program. 5. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the following minimum work experience
qualifications: Minimum of twelve months injection molding
experience. Requires the ability to read, write and effectively
communicate in English. Use of a variety of machines and equipment
requiring some trade machine and peripheral equipment knowledge,
set-up process per established specification and knowledge of
individual machine characteristics. Requires the ability to perform
equipment cleaning related to material handling as well as the
ability to work with material handling equipment MINIMUM TRAINING
REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the following minimum
training: Understanding of expectations detailed through
Organization Statements, Standards, Visions, Policies and
Procedures (i.e. Mission, Values, Code of Conduct, Operational,
Quality and Environmental Health & Safety) as reference in Employee
Handbooks and communicated through Orientation and/or other
training awareness opportunities. Additional training requirements
may be identified based plant-specific location (municipality-
province/state/country) and/or operational needs that are
commensurate with the duties, expectations, and responsibilities of
