your future. Responsibilities The Director of Clinical Operations
(DCO) is responsible for the direct management and supervision of
the care providers, paramedics, respiratory therapists, emergency
medical technicians, emergency medical dispatchers and registered
nurses within all areas of the Ambulance Service, including ground,
air and mobile integrated health operations. The DCO will be
responsible fordirecting personnel activities to meet standards of
care as planned and identified by Medical Direction and the
Ambulance Service Clinical Practice Committee. Specifically seeking
and encouraging the adoption of evidenced based clinical practices,
technologies, and workflows that improve patient outcomes and/or
the efficiency of the Ambulance Service. The DCO will support the
Operations Managers to ensure all Ambulance Service care providers
are receiving routine performance appraisal and feedback,
performing at the top of their licensure, and carrying out the
patient care mission of the Ambulance Service. The DCO will work
with the Senior Director, Ambulance Service Administrator, Medical
Direction and other Director level positions to develop, implement
and assess the Ambulance Service strategic action plan. The DCO
will work with their direct reports to identify and own strategic
action plan key results and tactics with a focus on using resources
wisely and efficiently to achieve operational and clinical goals.
The DCO will carry out these functions with the highest integrity,
maintaining confidentiality and accountability in all clinical and
administrative decisions. The DCO will provide in person and
on-call coverage to support the operations at scheduled intervals,
act as primary point of contact in case the Ambulance Service
post-accident and incident plan is activated, and will interact
with outside accrediting agencies as appropriate to their areas of
responsibilities Qualifications A Masters Degree from an accredited
college or university in Business, Operations Management,
Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Paramedicine, Public Safety or
a related field is required. Three years of emergency medical
services or critical care transport experience is required. Five
years of management/supervisory experience required. National
Incident Management System ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800 course
completion preferred. Knowledge of EMS regulations. Must be
eligible for, or currently possess, a Minnesota or Wisconsin
registered nursing license (both licenses must be obtained prior to
completion of orientation), or Nationally Registered Paramedic
Certification, or Nationally Registered Emergency Medical
Technician certification. Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced
Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support
(PALS) required.
