Job Description Job Description Job Title: Mechanical Assembler Job Description We are seeking a skilled mechanical assembler to join our team. You will primarily be responsible for brazing copper to copper piping using an oxyacetylene torch, ensuring each unit meets custom specifications. This role involves cutting piping to length, brazing it together, and assembling the housing for these units. You will need to interpret blueprints and work collaboratively to ensure all projects meet customer needs. This position requires considerable physical activity, including bending, kneeling, and twisting throughout the day. Responsibilities Brazing copper to copper piping using an oxyacetylene torch. Cutting piping to required lengths based on custom specifications. Assembling housing for units as per blueprints. Interpreting and working from blueprints to meet customer needs. Collaborating in teams to ensure project completion. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude with at least 3 months of experience in mechanical assembly, complex machine operation, or construction. Proficiency in using a tape measure for precise cutting. Experience with brazing and mechanical assembly. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with schematic and blueprint interpretation. Familiarity with hand tools and general labor tasks. Experience in welding, particularly entry-level MIG welding on mild steel, is advantageous. Our clean and organized shop ensures an efficient workflow. Work Environment Work in a large, well-lit manufacturing building, collaborating in teams of 3-4 people in a fast-paced environment. While the work is physically demanding and can get dirty, the shop is kept clean and organized. The hours are 5:00am-3:30pm, Monday through Thursday. Although there is no A/C, fans are used to maintain airflow. Steel-toed shoes and long pants are required daily. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ramsey, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
